About

Established in 2003, The Tack House was founded by Sarvy van Maris, a long time equestrian enthusiast and Arabian horse owner and breeder.

At the age of 17, Sarvy got her first horse by winning the International Arabian Horse Association Essay Contest (1987).  First prize was a 4 year old gelding named WN Altivo, donated by Wayne Newton; this gelding was the key to Sarvy's life changing events which have led to The Tack House's vision. .

Along the journey, Sarvy and Altivo had many friends, Clubs, Associations, barns, and veterinarians help them with understanding, learning and growing in the equine industry. Unfortunately, after a long bout with cancer, Altivo, fondly named 'Fig', passed away in 2007 at the age of 24; however, his legacy and what he taught Sarvy lives on. The Tack House was launched and failed in 2010-2014, but Sarvy has brought it back, this time as the true vision of what it shoudl have been in the first place. A place where small suppliers can showcase their products to all equestrians, and a place for Horse Rescues, Clubs, and Associations to be able to fundraise to help the horses we all love.

The Tack House is committed to helping Pony Clubs, as well as horse shows and Associations in North America to better their funding by offering unparalleled fundraising opportunities through it's site, as well as promotions and sponsorships to help them continue to do the great work they do for all children and horses alike.
